Who is &One Pomade?
&One Pomade is a small family owned, online Australian pomade business, owned by me, Edwin! I am originally from Hong Kong but now live in South Australia, since falling in love with the country while I studied University here.
Why did I start &One Pomade?
I realised that there wasn't a lot of shops in Australia that sold natural, home-brewed hair products so I wanted to be able to bring some of these amazing brands here for others to discover! I became passionate about natural, home-brewed brands as they are great for my sensitive and dry scalp, not like the cheaper products you find at the supermarket that are filled with chemicals. I also wanted to be able to teach others why natural hair products really are so much better for you.
Why do I love all things hair?
I first discovered my passion for pomade and all things hair in 2020 when I got an amazing haircut from my barber in Hong Kong. Since then, I started to learn to style my own hair and discovering what pomade's I could use to create these amazing hairstyles. I love pomade and all things hair so much that I have just started to study to become a Barber as this is my dream career.
When did the &One Pomade journey begin?
&One Pomade opened in October 2021 and has been growing ever since thanks to my amazing customers from all over the world.
Where is &One Pomade located?
&One Pomade is located in South Australia, Australia.
What is the meaning of the name &One?
As well as my love for pomade, basketball is my favourite sport so I decided to combine these by using the basketball term ‘&One’ and hence, &One Pomade was born!
And one
[ænd-wʌn] • noun
"And one" is a basketball term used when an offensive player takes and makes a shot, while being fouled by a defender from the opposing team. The reason for the nickname "and one" is because even though the player was fouled, they are awarded with the two or three point they still made while also still getting one free throw.
